Digicel Fiji 7's selector Aisea Tuilevu believes the warm up games before the USA 7's is the likely contributor to the side's poor performance in Las Vegas.

Tuilevu said while alot of factors will be addressed to see what went wrong in the USA 7's where Fiji lost to Australia in the quaterfinals, it was clear from the performance of the players that their fitness standard has dropped.

He adds in the New Zealand 7's the Fiji team was the fittest side in the tournament but in Las Vegas, their performance was not up to par from the first game against USA.

Tuilevu highlighted that from his experience, alot of energy could be lost in the warm up games.

The Fiji 7s team played against Japan and England which was two days away from the tournament.

The former New Zealand 7's rep said when fatigue sets in for a player, a good game plan and a great coach will not help the team.

Tuilevu and Tanivula will meet this week to look at areas to improve in before the Australia and Hong Kong 7's next month.
