Wardens top local team in Uprising 7s
The 8 local sides that will take part include defending champions Red Rock, last year’s runners-up Army, Wardens, Police, Marist, Ratu Filise and host club Uprising.
The Timoci Wainiqolo coached Wardens appear to be the team to beat on the domestic circuit this season having already racked up wins at the Coral Coast 7s, Vuda 7s and Dreketi 7s, making them $43,000 richer.
They currently have players like Ilai Tinai, Lepani Botea, Apisai Nayabo and Joji Ragamate in their line-up.
All of the local side that are taking part in the Uprising 7s are well known teams with their achievements in local tournament they take part in.
So far the Australian Thunderbolts, France and the Digicel Fiji 7s are some of the big names confirmed for this tournament.
The Uprising International 7s kicks-off on the 20th of next month at the TFL Stadium.
