Wardens Gold look to be amongst the Top 8 teams, after the first day of competition, in the Digicel Suva 7s, after they recorded the highest score, thrashing Army Three, 47 points to nil, at the Bidesi Grounds this afternoon.

The team consists of Seremaia Burotu, Lepani Nabuliwaqa, Orisi Sareki and William Ryder to name a few.

Other teams that have been impressive today is Army One, led by Dale Tonawai, Osea Kolinisau and Timoci Volavola.

They beat the Sailosi Naiteqe captained Wardens Two side 21-5, beat St Patrick 31-nil and Tovata Babas 22-nil.

Red Rock One which has the likes of former sprint king Alfred Smith and Ponipate Kato beat Vatuwaqa 29-nil and Tosa Bussan 12-5.

Army Two, led by Napolioni Naulia also look good after they beat Gladiators 22-nil and went on to beat Senibua 15-nil.
 
R-A-U Faith side which consists of youngsters from Nasinu Police Mobile are also good, as they thrashed Davetalevu 24-nil, beat Explosion Young Boys by 24-5 and won to Fosters 31-7.

The Ratu Filise side from Nadroga, is also a team to watch out for as they thumped Harlequins 24-nil, beat L-D-U Savura 12-nil and beat Marist 26-5.

After the first day of competition, the winners from the 14 pools will be ranked according to the number of tries they have scored, with the top 8 teams from Day One, automatically qualifying for the 2nd round of elimination tomorrow.

The two finalists from this tournament will automatically go into the Suva International 7s that will be held in Suva next year.

A total of $15,000 is at stake in the two day Suva Digicel 7s series.
