The Waratahs are going for Daryl Gibson’s inside knowledge to beat the Crusaders in the Super Rugby final this weekend.

Gibson played a part in four of the Crusaders Super Rugby titles and now has an integral role in preventing the Crusaders from winning the title.

The former Canterbury and All Black midfielder’s intimate knowledge of the seven-time champion’s systems as a player and then assistant coach is expected to be useful as the Waratahs prepare for their first Super Rugby final since 2008.

Gibson was a member of the three-peat Crusaders winning squad from 1998 to 2000 and the unbeaten class of 2002.

The Crusaders will take on the Waratahs at 9.40pm Saturday in the Super Rugby final.
