The Waratahs maintained their undefeated start to their 2009 Super 14 season and extended their run of victories after defeating the Chiefs 11-7 last night.

The side who went down to the Crusaders last year in the Super 14 finals kept up their attack in the opening few minutes of the game, with Fijian Sitiveni Sivivatu breaking through the strong Waratahs defense however he was stopped in the NSW 22.

Meanwhile, the Brumbies snatched a victory in extra time against 2008 Super 14 title Holder, the Canterbury Crusaders when Sterling Mortlock kicked a conversion for to the final score to read 18-16.

This is the second win for the home side after they beat the Highlanders last weekend 33-31 but the first loss for the Crusaders who are without the services of Richie McCaw, Leon McDonald and Brad Thorn.

The Hurricanes beat the Highlanders 22-17, the Cheetahs went down to the Western Force 10-16, Stormers beat the Reds 27-24, the Bulls from South Africa taught the Blues a lesson in their second encounter this season when they beat them 59-26 and the Sharks beat the Lions 25-10.
