The Chiefs have suffered back-to-back Super Rugby losses.

The defending champions conceded a late try to go down to the Waratahs 25-20 in Sydney last night.

Halfback Brendon Leonard said they blew it in the first half.

Earlier, the Hurricanes led the Western Force throughout in Wellington, for a 22-16 victory that takes them to just three points behind the Chiefs.

Captain Conrad Smith said it is pleasing given their youthful side.

Smith said four of their six senior players are missing, but other guys are standing up and they are fighting through it.

In today’s matches, the Crusaders will play the Highlanders at 7.35pm while the Reds will take on the Brumbies at 9.40pm.
