The Waratahs have kick started recruiting for the next Super 14 season by signing up exciting young Fijian wing Ratu Nasiganiyavi with the NSW franchise opening his chances of someday becoming a Wallaby.

The hulking back has drawn comparisons to former All Black great Jonah Lomu because of his size and speed following his strong performances for Sydney grade side Randwick this year.

He will join his cousin Lote Tuqiri with the Waratahs after this season's Super 14 runners-up won the race to stitch up a two-year deal with the highly-rated winger.

The son of former Fijian rugby rep, Nasiganiyavi said Tuqiri played a big part in NSW gaining his signature.
