Fiji born Viliame Waqaseduadua will not be part of New Zealand Sevens team to Hong Kong and Adelaide because of injury.

Joining Waqaseduadua on the sidelines are Edwin Cocker, who has a broken leg, Willie Rickards with a hamstring and Tu Umaga Marshall with a back problem.

Also national squad member Tim Mikkelson has been called up into the Chiefs squad while Auckland's Tim Nanai Williams and North Harbour's Nafi Tuitavake have been selected in the training squad for the New Zealand under-20 team.

Coach Gordon Tietjens has named a few new players in his 17-man squad that will assemble in Mount Maunganui to prepare for the next two legs of the IRB World Sevens Series.

Returning to the training squad is another Fijian Save Tokula who missed out at the Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament.

The other top players retained by Tietjens are Tomasi Cama, DJ Forbes, Lote Raikabula, Zar Lawrence, Solomon King, Chad Tuoro while the new comers are Jordan Puletua, Pehi Te Whare, Lance McDonald, Joe Hill and Tutu Tairea.

New Zealand at the Hong Kong Sevens is pooled with Australia, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.
