Young, unheralded stars have often lifted New Zealand to victory at the New International 7s, but coach Gordon Tietjens will turn to an old hand to spark his side at Westpac Stadium this weekend.

Fijian flyer Viliame Waqaseduadua has returned to the national side after a four-year stint in the Super 14 and Teitjens expects him to play a key role as one of his senior players.

Tietjens first picked Waqaseduadua in 2005 but said he's 10 times the rugby player now.

He's grown, he's matured and he's enjoying the environment.

Teitjens could not believe it when 25 year old Waqaseduadua, who has played for the Blues, Highlanders and Chiefs in the past three seasons, fell into his lap again this year.

Waqaseduadua will be in New Zealand's starting line-up when it takes on Wales in their opening match tomorrow at 2:12pm.
