Fijian born and Melbourne Storm winger Sisa Waqa has been given an initial all clear after a horrific incident during Melbourne's qualifying final loss to South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Waqa was hospitalized on Friday night after landing heavily on his head and neck following a challenge by South Sydney Rabbitohs winger Dylan Farrell.

Waqa said he was lucky and blessed to be walking again and thanked everyone for well wishes when he was in the hospital.

Waqa still hopes to play a part in Melbourne's premiership drive.

Meanwhile Fiji National Rugby League General Manager Tomi Finau said that they will wait for Waqa's Doctor's medical report before making further decision on his place in the Vodafone Fiji Bati.
