The Fiji soccer team received a timely boost ahead of tomorrow afternoon's opening World Cup qualifying match against New Zealand with top defender Taniela Waqa declared fit to play.
Speaking to Village sports, Coach Carlos Buzetti said that after having fitness tests and playing for Lautoka over the weekend, Waqa will be able to make the run-on-team tomorrow.
The Fiji/New Zealand All Whites match kicks off at 4pm at Churchill park in Lautoka tomorrow and you can catch alive-commentary of the match on our sister station Radio Sargam.
Meanwhile, the New Zealand Football Association said it could be a year before the All Whites get to play their home World Cup qualifying match against Fiji.
Radio New Zealand qoutes the Association Chief Executive Officer Graham Seatter as saying that there are only a few opportunities to play the game, with a limited number of such dates next year.
