Rugby is not all about attacking, but defending as well.
This is the sentiment from Fiji 7s Assistant coach, Etuate Waqa after Fijivillage raised the question on why some players that performed during the Uprising 7s were not included in the 16 member squad.
Waqa said that while some rugby fans think that players like Niko Verekauta, Ilai Tinai, and Joji Ragamate should be included, they should understand that the selectors are not only looking at the speed of a player.
According to Waqa, they have selected players that are capable of delivering especially during crucial times of a match.
Some of the possible names that will be announced tomorrow are Waisea Nayacalevu, Sekonaia Kalou, Lepani Botia, Setefano Cakau, Jimilai Naikadawa, Emosi Vucago, Metuisela Talebula, Jone Tiko, Joe Naisilisili, Osea Kolinisau, Dan Rawaqa, Isimeli Taqea, James Brown, Avenisi Tuinubu and Aminiasi Nava.
Fiji is in Pool C in the NZ 7s with Wales, Argentina and Tonga.
The New Zealand 7s will be held in Wellington next Friday and Saturday.
