Fiji born Sisa Waqa helped his Melbourne Storm rugby league side to clinch the 2012 NRL title last night after beating the Canterbury Bulldogs 14-4.

Waqa now joins a few other Fijians who have held the NRL title.

Noa Nadruku won the title for the Canberra Raiders in 1994, Lote Tuqiri was in the winning Broncos side in 2000 while Petero Civoniceva was in the Broncos side in 2006.

Last night Waqa saved a sure try to the Bulldogs by trying to intercept a pass from Ben Barba to Jonathan Wright but unfortunately he dropped the ball in the process.

The Storm scored three tries to Billy Slater, Justin O’Neill and Ryan Hoffman while Sam Perret touched down for the Bulldogs.
