The Wallabies hopes of ending their Eden Park hoodoo and keeping their Bledisloe Cup hopes alive on Saturday face a potential body blow with inspirational leader David Pocock in doubt with a knee injury.

Pocock underwent scans as fears arouse he will be sidelined for the Rugby Championship rematch in Auckland, where the Wallabies must win for the first time since 1986 in order to prevent the All Blacks retaining a trophy they have held since 2003.

Pocock sustained the injury shortly before halftime but opted to play on after receiving treatment during the interval.

If Pocock is ruled out, the Wallabies will be forced to field inexperienced Brumbies openside Michael Hooper or uncapped Queenslander Liam Gill in the pivotal position up against All Blacks captain Richie McCaw.

Vice-captain Will Genia will be upgraded to skipper if Pocock is unavailable.

The Wallabies lost to the All Blacks 27-19 last night while the Springboks beat Argentina 27-6.
