Australia has opted to suspend six players after the group stayed out late and drank heavily in Dublin last week.

Nick Cummins, Adam Ashley Cooper, Tatafu Polota Nau, Ben Robinson and Liam Gill will not play against Scotland at Murrayfield.

Coach Ewen McKenzie has made no apologies for suspending the six in a hard line move designed to set the standards required to win the 2015 World Cup.

Sanctions were meted out to a further nine members of the squad, with Dave Dennis, Kane Douglas, Saia Fainga'a, Bernard Foley and Nick Phipps handed written warnings.

Scott Fardy, Mike Harris, Ben McCalman and Nic White were dealt with verbally.

These high profile sanctions came after the players went out for dinner in Dublin ahead of their rest day. Australia meet Scotland the weekend 7am.

Meanwhile, in the international test matches this weekend, the Flying Fijians face Romania at 3.30am, Wales meets Tonga at 8.30am, Argentina takes on Italy at 3am, South Africa meet France at 8am, while New Zealand meet Ireland next Monday at 3am.
