Former All Blacks half back Justin Marshall says Australia’s chances to put the All Blacks under pressure and give themselves a good chance in the first Bledisloe Cup test goes back to the fundamentals of the game.
Marshall says Australia will not win unless there is a significant improvement up front.
Marshall in his column in the New Zealand Herald says there is no doubt they have plenty of talent in the back-line with the likes of Adam Ashley-Cooper, Israel Folau, Will Genia, Matt Giteau and Tevita Kuridrani.
He adds he cannot help but think back to what happened during the English series in June when their pack was beaten up.
Marshall says the All Blacks coaches would have looked at that series and seen how emphatically the English pack dominated the Wallabies.
The All Blacks play the Wallabies tomorrow at 10pm in Sydney.
