The "Walking out of poverty" programme provides opportunities for school dropouts with no skills to engage in economic activity.
Speaking to Village News, International Labour organisation Director, Abu Zakaria said the programme targets social welfare recipients, single mothers and people who have no regular source of income.
Upon the completion of the training, tools and equipment are given to them to implement knowledge and skills to engage in economic activities.
They also provide market support whereby they organise exhibition of their products thus introducing them the market.
He also said that they programme has been successful as they have trained approximately 600 young people who have been able to land jobs in restaurants, garment industry or have started their own business.
