Residents in Waqaidra in Wainikoro are now waiting for first light this morning to assess the damages flood waters have inflicted in their farming community.
Resident Ashneel Chand said that four houses in their farming community have been submerged in floodwaters and they are waiting for help.
Meanwhile, in Dreketi the rain is very heavy at the moment.
Nacula village is flooded with resident Shalen Kumar saying that 5 houses are under and families are going to the Irrigation Department building to stay safe.
