“Go out and show that you deserve to wear the national jersey.”

That’s the comment from the Digicel Fiji Barbarians Coach Timoci Wainiqolo to his players with less than 24 hours left before the much awaited Uprising Fiji International sevens kicks off.

Wainiqolo who is expected to take the national sevens team to Wellington in two weeks time said he is happy about their progress so far.

Wainiqolo added he is impressed with the new players in the side especially Manasa Nayagi and Peni Ravai.


The 16 member national sevens team is expected to be named on Saturday night before they march into camp next Monday.

The Digicel Fiji Barbarians will meet the Lomaiviti Barbarians in its first match tomorrow at Churchill Park at 11:24am.

Meanwhile, Australian Thunderbolts coach Michael O’Connor said he will be assessing his players in the two day meet.
