Wainimakutu Secondary School stamped their mark in the Suva Zone 1 competition after they took out the first gold medal in the 3000 metres in the girl’s category.

The highlight in the events this morning will be the in the Senior Boys 100 metres where former Suva Grammar student and current Powerade Games defending champion Mataiasi Savou will take part in the next half an hour.
16 schools are taking part this year including zone boys champion Dudley High School, Nasinu Secondary and girls zone champion last year Ballantine Memorial School.
Looking at the medal tally, in the girl’s division, Wainimakutu Secondary lead with 1 gold and 1 silver and Namosi is in second place with 1 bronze.
In the boys division, Dudley High leads with 1 gold, second is John Wesley with 1 silver and third is Nasinu with 1 bronze.
The Suva Zone 1 competition continues at the TFL stadium.
