Wainimakutu Secondary School from Namosi is currently ruling the track and field at the Suva Zone 1.

The school from Namosi has also broken two records so far.

Ratu Manasa Lavanua broke the record in the junior boys 800 meters event after clocking a time of 2 minutes 12 seconds.

The old record stood at 2 minutes 13 seconds.

Lavanua said this is something he will try to build on going into the Coca-Cola Games later this month.

Wainimakutu Secondary’s Ita Senitarawau also broke the inter girls 800 meters record after clocking a time of 2 minutes 27 seconds.

Merelita Tuilawaki of Namosi Secondary broke the record in the senior girls 800 meters after she clocked a time of 2 minutes 35 seconds.

Meanwhile, Wainimakutu Secondary leads the medal tally in the boys division with 2 gold and 1 silver.

Dudley High School is second with 2 gold and one bronze while Cathedral Secondary School is third with 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.

Wainimakutu Secondary School is also leading the medal tally in the girls division with 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
Namosi Secondary is second with 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Rishikul Sanatan and Dudley High School are tied in third place with 1 gold and 1 silver.
