Wainimakutu Secondary school is looking good this year to walk away with some gold medals at the Coca Cola Games. 

The Namosi based school put up a strong performance in the Suva Zone 1 last week and won the girls division with 10 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals.

In the boys division, Wainimakutu Secondary School finished third with 7 gold and 2 bronze.

Some of the athletes who made their mark at the Zone include Ratu Manasa Lavanua who broke records in the Junior boys 800 and 400 metres events.

Lavanua clocked a time of 2 minutes 12 seconds in the Junior boys 800 meters event and the best time in this event achieved at the Coca Cola games is 2 minutes 6 seconds. 

Ita Senitarawa is another athlete to look out for in the inter girls grade as she broke the record in the 800 meters event with a time of 2 minutes 27 seconds. 

The best time in this event achieved at the Coca Cola games is 2 minutes 22 seconds.

Also a surprise package at the Suva Zone 1 was Davnil Kumar of Rishikul Sanatan College who won the Junior boys 200 meters with a time of 24.60 seconds.

The Coca Cola games will be held next Friday and Saturday at the National Stadium.
