Wainimakutu Secondary School will be out to try and end Adi Cakobau Schools 11 year unbeaten run at this year’s Coca Cola games.

The Namosi based school dominated the long distance events and took out the girls division yesterday at the Suva zone 1 making it their third year in a row.

Head Coach Esala Matou said that they will give ACS a run for their money in this year’s Coca Cola games.


Meanwhile, a new champion was crowned in the boys division at the Suva zone 1 yeterday. 

It came right down to the wire as the new champion edged out last year’s winners in the silver medal. 

Dudley High School dethroned Nasinu Secondary School scooping 8 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze while Nasinu settled for 8 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze and in third place was Wainimakutu Secondary School with 7 gold and 2 bronze.

In the girl’s division Wainimakutu Secondary School successful defended their title to make it three years in a row.

Wainimakutu won 10 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze while Assemblies of God High School came in second place with 7 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze while Ratu Sukuna Memorial School in third place with 5 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze.

Best Female athlete went to Kinisimere Leitabu of Wainimakutu and
Best Male went to Jovesa Vaileba of Ratu Sukuna Memorial.
