The Wages Council of Fiji has received several complaints against employers who are allegedly deducting FNPF from their workers’ wages but are not depositing the money in their FNPF accounts.
Council Chairman Father Kevin Barr said this is a serious issue which needs to be investigated as the future of the workers depends on their FNPF deductions.
The FNPF has confirmed that, after referrals from the Labour Ministry, its legal team is currently investigating a number of employers who are alleged to be making deductions for FNPF from their workers but have not updated their accounts with the Fund.
