The new look Wages Council have set their focus to try and ensure that they can play an active role in the fight against poverty in the country.
Chairman of the Ten Wages Council Father Kevin Barr said they are seriously concerned that a large majority of the working class citizens in the country earn below the poverty threshold.
The Ten Wages Council are expected to start consultations soon with stakeholders in the respective sectors to determine ways in increasing the wages and salaries of workers around the country.
