As the wages council starts its review of wages and salaries of workers in various sectors, the Fiji Employers Federation (FEF) is calling on the council to be mindful of employers and potential investors.
FEF President Dixon Seeto said while they support the need to improve wages in various sectors, the council should be mindful of its impact on businesses.
Meanwhile, Seeto added that the Federation believes the labour market will remain subdued in the New Year.
The Wages Council had already endorsed a 20% increase in wages for the garment industry while work continues on increasing wages and salaries for workers in other sectors.
