Vuruna makes dad proud
Those were the sentiments of 60 year old Rusiate Tunaulu, the father of Digicel Fiji Sevens winger, Sikeli Vuruna.
A retired soldier, Tunaulu recalled when he was in Lebanon in 2000 and received news that Vuruna's mother passed away, however he was strong to come back to Fiji and continue raising their nine children.
Vuruna, the fourth child was only 12 years old when his mother passed away but now he is 23 years old and is working as a naval officer.
Tunaulu said his son is a hero not only for the nation but for the people of Saqani in Cakaudrove.
He said that his close family members were at his Siberia home in Labasa to cheer for Vuruna when he played at Hong Kong and is looking forward to another exciting weekend.
Vuruna a former Lelean Memorial School student was instrumental in Fiji's 35-28 win over New Zealand in the Hong Kong 7s final and is expected to play an instrumental role in Fiji's quest for a back to back win in Japan this weekend.
Fiji will play France at 3.12pm in its first match this Saturday followed by the second pool match against Japan at 6.47pm and against England at 10.09pm.
