Former Crusaders Super 14 winger Marika Vunibaka's inclusion in the Digicel Fiji 7s is a big boost in their preparation as the new players to look up to him knowing what he has achieved in the 7's rugby code.

The 33 year old is the only player in the 12 member squad who has tasted victory in the Hong Kong 7s - 9 years ago in 1999 when Fiji last won in Son Kon Po defeating New Zealand 21-14 to win the final.

He will still be best remembered by Kiwi coach Gordon Tietjens as the man who scored two tries in that final.

Speaking to Fiji Village Sports, Coach Josateki Savou said Vunibaka who has lifted the Melrose Cup twice in 1997 and 2005 has helped him a lot in their campaign to try and end our losing streak in the 2007 / 2008 IRB 7's series.
