Fiji 7s star halfback, Emosi Vucago has opted out of the Fiji team for the Hong Kong and Japan tournaments.

The 20 member Digicel Fiji 7s squad marched into camp today minus Vucago and Nemani Nagusa.

Vucago has told the team management that he wants to rest while it is understood that Nagusa has secured an overseas contract.

Both players were part of the Fiji 7s team to the NZ and USA 7s.

This means coach, Alifereti Dere has to look for replacements for his current squad during the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s next weekend.

Meanwhile, clubs taking part in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will get top referees controlling their game.

Marist 7s Chairman, Lawrence Tikaram said this has been a major concern for many teams and they have now put in place certain conditions with the Suva Referees to ensure that only their best will be on the ground to officiate during the two days.

15 referees who hold IRB Level 2 refereeing certificate will officiate an average of six games in the tournament.

The winner of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will walk away with $10,000 dollars cash. The tournament will be held next Friday and Saturday at the TFL Stadium.
