The Digicel Fiji 7s coach Waisale Serevi has not considered Prison officer Setefano Cakau for the first leg of the IRB World 7s Series in Dubai and George.
FRU earlier this week received a letter from the family of deceased prisoner, Josefa Baleloa requesting them not to select Cakau, saying that he was allegedly part of the group that assaulted Baleiloa during his arrest.
However while naming his final 12 member team, Serevi said that Cakau's exclusion has nothing to do with Baleiloa's case.
Serevi today named Emosi Vucoga as captain of the side and Etonia Naba to be his assistant.
The team to Dubai and George - in the forwards are Etonia Naba, Iliesa Ratuva, Rupeni Nasiga, Sailosi Rabonaqica and Seremaia Burotu.
The backs are Emosi Vucago, Iveri Lavo, Lepani Nabuliwaqa, Naisa Narukutabua, Osea Kolinisau, Peni Rokodiva Junior and Vereniki Goneva.
Setefano Cakau, William Rasileka and Watisoni Votu have been named as non ravelling reserves. The Fiji 7s team leaves for Dubai on Monday. The tournament kicks off next Friday.
