Former Coca Cola Games 800 metres gold medallist Jale Vota has signed a contract to play for the Navua soccer team this season.

Vota, a former student of Penang High School in Rakiraki has impressed coach Gurjeet Singh in training and could make his debut in the opening match of the Pillay's Garments Champion vs Champion soccer series against Lautoka on Sunday.

Navua soccer boss Anil Sharma said Vota, who played for Rakiraki soccer team last season is a good striker and has jelled well with the rest of the players in the team.

Meanwhile Suva midfielder Hendry Dyer has started training with the Navua side.

But he is yet to be cleared by Suva soccer to play for Navua.

The Navua/Lautoka opening match in the CVC series will kick off on Sunday 3pm at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
