There is another setback for the Digicel Fiji 7s team after Ireland based forward Mosese Volavola was declared unavailable for the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s next month.

Volavola who has shown his interest to represent Fiji is tied up with club commitments and is likely to miss out on the final selection for the 12 member team to Hong Kong.

The FRU Games Committee has maintained their stand that players vying for a place in Hong Kong should be part of the Marist 7s and any players who will miss out will not be considered.

This is the same process the FRU implemented for players who were part of the Fiji 15's rugby team to the World Cup where they were told that there will be no favoritism.

Volavola is the second overseas based player who is unavailable after Bua flyer Rupeni Caucau has also been ruled out because of injury.

The Fiji 7s team to Hong Kong will be named on the 8th of March after the Marist 7s final.
