Australia born Fijian rugby player, Ben Volavola is expected to get his big break for the Waratahs this Thursday against the Crusaders in the Super rugby pre-season match.
There is doubt over the fitness of Berrick Barnes and Bernard Foleya and Volavola is now in the hot seat.
Volavola has been with the club since October last year.
He represented the Australia Under 20 in the 2011 IRB Junior World Championship in Italy.
Meanwhile, the Super rugby season kicks off at 8.40pm this Friday with the Force taking on the Rebels.
The Brumbies will play the Reds at 8.40pm this Saturday.
