Vodafone Fiji aims to collect more than $400,000 through their new initiative "Red Alert" in order to assist the victims of Hurricane Tomas.
Vodafone Fiji ATH foundation coordinator Ambalika Kutty said this is an SMS based fundraising and the money collected will go towards providing relief supplies to those people in the Northern and Eastern Division who were badly affected the hurricane.
She also said that Vodafone ATH Foundation has donated $10,000 to start the initiative.
Kutty added that the service is free and Vodafone users will have to dial *767# from their mobile phones to donate $1.00, $4.99 or $9.99 and the only money deducted would be the donation made by the user.
Vodafone users who want to donate more than $10.00 or wishing to donate from overseas will be able to do so through their website-(www. vodafone.com.fj)
