Vodafone launches M-Paisa Money Transfer initiative
These are the words of Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama while officially launching Vodafone's M-Paisa a quick way to send money anywhere in Fiji using your Vodafone or Inkk mobile phone and at the same time the receiver receives it without any delay.
M-Paisa is transferring money by electronic means from your mobile phone.
Bainimarama said the initiative will allow many in the rural areas to participate in the financial sector.
Managing Director of Vodafone, Aslam Khan said the M-Paisa was launched three years ago at Kenya and Vodafone Fiji becomes the first operator in the South Pacific to launch this.
Meanwhile to activate M-Paisa service on your Vodafone or Inkk mobile, you will first need to go to any Vodafone Retail Centre or Authorized M-Paisa Agent outlet with your mobile phone to register as an M-Paisa customer.
