Distress calls from customers during the height of flood prompted the staff of Vodafone Fiji Limited to raise $300,000 which has been used to purchase relief items for the flood victims.

Vodafone Fiji Limited Managing Director Aslam Khan revealed at a press conference this afternoon that seven hundred households will be assisted from tomorrow.

These items include pots, plates, bowls, spoons, mosquito coils, mattress, blankets and each pack are worth $430.

Out of the 700 packs, 110 will be distributed in Sigatoka, 360 in Nadi, 30 in Lautoka and 200 in Ba.

Khan told Fijivillage that they are also looking at providing assistance to farmers.

120 staff will be heading to the Western Division where these items will be delivered to the affected victims.
