The battle is just about to begin for the Vodafone Fiji Bati in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup in England.

The game at Rochdale Stadium is a sellout and the temperature in Rochdale today is 8 degrees celsius.

We now speak to Fiji National Rugby League Manager, Tomi Finau who has just arrived with the Fiji Bati at the stadium.


Finau said the team is ready for the task ahead.


The Vodafone Fiji Bati players are also calling on the people of Fiji to wear blue today to support the team.

Meanwhile Fiji Bati skipper Petero Civoniceva is hoping for a good outing against Ireland because it can determine their future in this year’s Rugby League World Cup Tournament.

Civoniceva said it is a tough pool but they need a win.


The Fiji Bati take on Ireland at 9am today.

The starting line-up will have the captain Petero Civoniceva, Jason Bukuya, Kane Evans, Aaron Groom, Marika Koroibete, Apisai Koroisau, Daryl Millard, Kevin Naiqama, Wes Naiqama, Alipate Noilea, Vitale Junior Roqica, Ashton Sims and Korbin Sims. 
 
The interchanges are Tariq Sims, James Storer, Akuila Uate, Eloni Vunakece, Sisa Waqa and Semi Radradra.
