The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will be getting a $10,000 bonus payment after losing in the semifinals of the NZ 7s over the weekend.

This was confirmed to Fijivillage by Fiji Rugby Union Chairman Filimoni Waqabaca.

Waqabaca sayid if they had won the tournament the side would have received a bonus payment of $25,000.

He also said if the team had lost in the final they would have received a bonus payment of $15,000.

According to Waqabaca from now on there will be a bonus payment for each tournament once the 7s side qualifies into the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fiji 7s team remains in third place in the IRB Series standings with 73 points while New Zealand takes over the number one spot with 99 points followed by South Africa with 97 points.
