The Vodafone Fiji 7s team has lost out in the cup semifinal of the Scotland 7s after going down to New Zealand 19 - 14.
The wet and slippery condition took its toll on the players as the side committed a lot of handling errors in the match.
Fiji raced to an early 7-nil lead with speedster Samisoni Viriviri scoring his first try before New Zealand replied with a try to captain DJ Forbes and Bryce Heem to take a seven point lead at halftime.
New Zealand registered the first points in the second half with a try to play maker Gillies Kaka as they extend their lead to 19 - 7 with three minutes left in the match.
After a long passage of play, Fiji then got back into the match with a second try from Viriviri to reduce the lead.
Fiji=s chance of stealing victory was dashed as Semi Kunatani knocked the ball forward in the dying minutes of the second half.
Fiji will now meet Scotland in the third and fourth playoff at 5.16am.
Meanwhile, the All Blacks 7s team will take on Canada in the final at 5.50am.
