Former Permanent Secretary for Works, Anasa Vocea who yesterday pleaded guilty to seven counts of fraudulent conversion between 2000 to 2006 is expected to be sentenced by the Suva High Court this morning.

According to the charges, Vocea fraudulently converted the Director's fees he received as a member of the Pacific Forum Line board which was to be paid to the Ministry of Finance.

The total amount collected was $130,266 and Vocea converted the money for his own use.

Submissions were today made by Vocea's lawyer, Bob Lateef who said that his client is a 60 year old widower, his contract was terminated soon after his wife passed away and that he looks after his two children.

Anasa Vocea will be sentenced by Justice Daniel Gounder at 11am
