Health Officials are now trying to establish the extent of a virus which has affected hundreds of people in the Central Division.

Officials at the CWM Hospital confirmed this afternoon, that they treat an estimated 15 - 20 cases a day where people are suspected of suffering from the virus.

They say the symptoms include a fever, headaches and coughing and those who do not seek medical attention can find themselves bed ridden for a number of days before they recover.

The Health Ministry is now compiling a report to ascertain the extent of the virus and how many people have been affected by the virus.

The Chief Executive of the Suva Private Hospital Dr. Grant Rogers told Legend FM that they have also been treating a number of cases on a daily basis and expect to compile the figures later this week.

Health Officials urge people to take prompt action if you are not feeling well.
