Vodafone Fiji 7s speedster Samisoni Viriviri could create history and become the first ever Fijian 7s player to win the 2014 IRB Sevens Player of the Year award.

This comes after Viriviri was nominated for the award alongside South African captain Kyle Brown, New Zealand Tim Mickelson and England Tom Mitchell.

Viriviri has electric pace and a sharp eye for the tryline and his clinical finishing has helped Fiji to win in Dubai and Tokyo.

He scores at the rate of one try per game, with 48 so far this season.

Viriviri will also bid farewell to the Fiji 7s team in London as he is expected to join Montpellier Rugby Club in France.

Fiji takes on Spain at 9.44pm Saturday in the first pool match.

We then take on Japan at 12.50am Sunday and play Australia at 4.38am Sunday in the last pool match.

The Cup quarterfinals start at 10.28pm Sunday, the semis start at 2.18am Monday and the Cup final will start at about 4.51am Monday.
