Villagers out to ensure their children get best education
Koro High School Principal, Arieta Yauvoli said the school caters for 14 villages in Koro and has even seen families all the way from Vatulele sending their children over.
She adds that they have a program in place where the parents provide food and school fees while the school provides accomodation to those from very far islands like Vatulele.
However, Yauvoli adds that with the parents and school doing their part, the only obstacle they are facing is lack of exposure. This she adds is a problem for the school as they only cater for form three to form six.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the tuatua bose ni Koro, Lepani Nacola said in the village the community holds fundraising where the money is then put into the students educational funds.
He adds that the only problem they face is transportation where the children in the village have to walk over one and a half miles to reach Nasau Fijian School, the only primary school in their area.
