While many people in the city and town areas celebrate Christmas with giving gifts and lighting their Christmas trees, it is a different story for the people in the villages and outer islands.
Maria Ita from Ono, Kadavu said the villagers are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with big feasts where families and village clans get together.
Ita added the villagers are just happy with the way they celebrate Christmas with their family members.
Meanwhile, Vakamau Bilovucu of Yaroi village of Savusavu said members of the village usually visit those in hospitals who cannot spend Christmas with their families.
However she added that as farmers it has been quite a difficult time putting food on the table.
