Villages and rural settlements should seriously think of having their own water storage systems.

This is the comment from the Assistant Director for Community Health in the Northern Divison, Dr Pablo Romakin after reports that Tunuloa Village in Natewa, Wailevu have bought water tanks following reported cases of typhoid fever in the Northern Division.

Speaking to Fijivillage today, Dr Romakin said even though statistics over the past three months has shown that typhoid has indeed decreased, people should still be cautious.

Doctor Romakin also added that though typhoid fever cannot be detected without a doctor's diagnosis, it is very easily spread.
