Villagers of Wailotua in Wainibuka are concerned for the safety of their children who attend the Wailotua district school situated along the Kings Road due to the possibility of a landslide after the construction of the new bridge.

School Chairman Iliesa Koroi said they have lodged a request with the Public Works Department if something can be done to widen the banks of the river to counter the problem of flooding during rainy season which has caused alot of soil erosion and the school is now under threat from a possible landslide as the school is situated on the hill.

PWD public relations officer Sainiana Waqanaibete said she will look into the complaint before making a comment.
