Villager in custody for alleged assault
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri reveals that the two women aged 21 and 35, are now in hospital.
According to Sokomuri, the suspect, who was under the influence of liquor, allegedly assaulted the women while he was on his way home.
He is expected to be charged later today.
Meanwhile, a 30 year old woman of Savusavu is expected to be charged later today for allegedly assaulting her husband with a piece of steel yesterday.
The alleged incident took place when the man, who is in his 30's returned home after a grog session early yesterday morning. An argument developed between the two and in the process the husband allegedly slapped the woman.
It is then alleged that the woman got hold of a piece of steel and allegedly struck it on the man=s head.
He sustained serious injuries and is admitted at the Savusavu hospital
