Police have laid charges against a 25-year-old Seaqaqa villager for the alleged murder of another villager of Lomaloma last Saturday.

The deceased was allegedly assaulted outside a nightclub in Labasa and as a result he received serious head injuries which resulted in his death.

Police confirmed the Seaqaqa villager had been charged with murder and is expected to appear in the Labasa Magistrates Court later today.

It was earlier confirmed that the man was last seen involved in a fight with the deceased outside the Tong's nightclub in Labasa town.

Meanwhile, police are following some leads in areas of Naqere, Savusavu to arrest the three men who allegedly killed a 49-year-old security officer Sheik Mohammad Hassan and then robbed a sawmill owner on Sunday night.
