The lighting up of the village of Naikawaga today will help decrease the rural to urban drift of villagers.

This is the view of the President of the Women's group from Naikawaga, Ana Ravuama who said it is known practice that the youth leave the village on Friday night for a night-out in the city and most of them spend the weekend in town at the nightclubs and the cinemas.

However, that has changed from today as the Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama lit the village up.

The villages raised a total of $17,000 since 2004 towards the rural electrification project and the Government gave in a total of $145,000.
