Golfer Vijay Singh stole Sergio Garcia's thunder today and along with it the title at The Barclays Classic.

Singh outlasted Garcia and American Kevin Sutherland to win the first event of the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup playoffs and pick up his second victory of the year.

Singh, Garcia and Sutherland each finished on eight under par and went on to the 18th to start the playoff. Sutherland was eliminated after Garcia made a 27-foot birdie putt and Singh followed with a birdie of his own from 26 feet.

The playoff then went to the par five 17th, where European Tour Member Garcia pulled his drive left near the tree line hit his second behind a tree well short and right of the green.

With Singh safely on in two, Garcia ran his chip for birdie from just off the green by the hole to the right and Singh two putted from 20 feet for the win.

Singh has now won the event four times and has 21 wins since turning 40.
